My guess is they’re more for production line convenience. All the OEM wheels I’ve seen have clearance for them, stamped in on steelies and counterbored or countersunk on alloys, but watch out with aftermarket wheels. Probably best to remember to watch for them and remove them when found. You could save someone else some grief later.

Today I checked the engine oil and gave the door hinges a squirt of oil . Took Sweetie out for a drive , saw some wild turkeys 🦃 stopped for a scone and a coffee, then drove home.

On the home front last week was my son's first week back to work after getting out of the hospital,
Not 100% yet but doing well and better each day ! S
O now on week 2 and a Doc visit coming up will see how this week goes !
A warm 15*f and some wind :O Rest of the week looking good,
Had the oil changed had new bulbs installed ! Too chilly outside to do the change and wearing a winter jacket made a real tight fit so had my mechanic do it since he was changing the oil.
The extra 25$ was worth not freezing my chrome nuts off lol , I picked up a box of these plastic rivets and a whole box was 2$ more then a small pack, So I now have Plenty for the HHR and my truck !
At least my truck has a access panel in the wheel well for the bulb change !
You all have a good day

I’ve thought about installing a set of the headlight access doors, just haven’t been to the pick a part yard in almost 3 years to find some. I see Jeep products have them some measurements and drilling and a couple of rivets, should do the trick, or maybe 🤔 just some zues fasteners and flanges for the springs riveted into place

Yes, so the headlight access doors on mine are not really necessary, but I have thought about it, just cause I can!

Steve that is something I have thought about. My RAM has the access doors for my headlights, Makes it pretty simple ! So one day I may get board and do it lol But should have been done at the factory !

Might have been the patent, could have been the bean counters fault!
