AC service done. Not bone-chilling cold, but a little better than it was.

Ordered a new battery vent tube from RockAuto, as the last one broke where it plugs into the battery vent.

(Forgot to use the discount code, dang it! But it's still cheaper than Amazon, shipping included.)

Took a drive out to get parts for JD tractor, ice cold air , and I thought it was working normal! Much better than better! Now maybe tomorrow, I’ll tackle the passenger side output shaft seal on the cv axle. It seeping a bit! Again! Must be the cup is scored

Never heard of just replacing the OE R-134a just to change it. But sounds like yours was low.

When in doubt I just stick a thermometer in a middle A/C vent, If it is around 40* F or so, I'm golden.. Which it is..

It wasn’t blowing 40F , more like 58F so the Freon was low. I’ve only owned the car 3 of it’s 11 years, so I didn’t know what the 4 PO’s had done, so I had this service done. Up here those kits off the shelve at WallyWorld aren’t compatible with the OEM R134A.

Today , Sweetie’s taking the BlackSwan with her friends for the day, a field trip of sorts, to visit wineries in our area.

You don’t have a front timing chain guide upper replacement bolt ?

after Sweetie got home , we loaded up the BlackSwan with garden tools plants and buckets, headed over to the cemetery to plant flowers at our 3 family graves. She was a little shook up , first year her Mom wasn’t there to coach and direct us where to place each flower.

the hole above the tensioner isnt a timing guide bolt hole, you can lift the motor from those holes

Blue- Yea 58F is not fun.. Good you had it corrected. Gotta have some comfort driving..

Wifes Mopar: she says is not cold/cold. so I'm gonna test it.. Those A/C kits here work fine.. I read they are coming out with a new A/C freon.. And more costly (naturally)..

. We just put new rubber on hers, mine is next..

they already have, it's 1234YF and it's ridiculously expensive, most my my fleet has it now, I pay (wholesale) about $600-900 for a TEN pound keg

there was also an ASE certification we in the parts dept (and the techs) had to take to be able to buy the kegs legally... not sure how that's gonna translate into the aftermarket world, might not since the replacement cans are so small
