Took a drive out for a cup of coffee with Sweetie, in the parking lot , there it is , the Mocha special edition!
Black chrome grille, door handles and beauty bar and the wheels! Mocha paint, crème leather interior.
I watched for the owner to come out , but no one did, might be an employee . We enjoyed our coffee’s and drove home , maybe next time , I can see if it’s for sale ? Or not!

please tell me this thing's fuel filter isn't in the top of the tank

there's a definite slight hesitation/unevenness on acceleration, it's hard to even explain it's so vague, but I can tell since I drive it every single day... I've already run a can of SeaFoam through it, and I'm gonna get new spark plugs, mostly just because I don't know how old they are, I've put 60K on the car just since I bought it

The fuel sock a very limited filter lives in the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank.
hesitation in your 2009 2.4l could be worn spark plugs, dirty air filter, dirty MAF sensor, dirty throttle body, dirty fuel injectors and fuel rail.
Any CEL on any codes pulled, it can also be a timing chain problem, front guide broken, stretched timing chain, but those usually throw a code. Same with a failing O2 sensor.
So, what of these have you changed since you bought the car? Eliminating the probabilities first.
Good point on the spark plugs, they might have been changed but aren’t the correct plugs! AC Delco 41-103 iridium are highly recommended.

Today a wash and rinse , at 33F I don’t wipe down or detail. Then a drive out to Fort Erie and lunch, then a walk along the Niagara River

Swans are migrating through headed north already.

no codes, relatively new 'off' feeling, within the last week or so... TC has not been done *knocks on every piece of wood within reach*... but no sounds, no codes, other than this barely noticeable lagging it runs quiet and smooth, air filter is admittedly old, 3.5 yrs... I'll probably do it when I get the plugs anyways

Do the plugs and air filter, clean the throttle body and the MAF sensor, while you are in there under the air box, remove the valve cover and inspect the front guide and TC

Today it’s just 6 F so maybe a drive out for a coffee, I’ll keep an eye open for that Mocha SE , see if I can have a closer look. Maybe a test drive.

Your profile says you have a 2009 2.4. Premium or E85 is recommended. If you're pumping regular, what you may be experiencing is the result of spark knock being detected and the ECM backing off the spark advance.

Can you get E85 in your area? It's a much better deal than Premium.

A personal preference of mine as with my diving and the terrain, I found that fuel with ethanol gives me a noticable drop in performance and mileage. I also added Lucas fuel injector cleaner and it also helped with my bit of acceleration 'lag' I was getting last summer. I was driving roughlu 2,000 miles a month or more, on the exact same route daily so I had a pretty good testing record. Although your results may vary due to climate, terrain and driving habits. I have just over 200,000 miles on the odometer now. I stick with premium fuel (2.4L 2006 )

I can't think of a single station around here that has E85. I run regular, I burn a tank a week, so no way I'm paying premium prices. I didn't even run premium in my old V8s when I was using them for daily, just went thru it too fast (I run Ethanol-free now that they're for funsies)

Seems to be a little better with a second can of Seafoam going thru it... but regardless plugs are going to be changed. I pulled out the Carfax they gave me when I bought it, they have 100K on them.
