Well, I didn't do it, but, I was driving when it happened.
Crossed into 194k.
Yesterday, I changed a leaking valve cover gasket and was suprised how clean the cam valley looked.
Amazing what regular oil changes will do.
Should have taken a picture.

Lonwane, what brand gasket did you use?

Yesterday while waiting for Sweetie at her hospital follow up tests, I found a pair of B2E option headlights here in Canada online , brand new from a parts store in London, Ontario, for less then $200.00 CDN , they will be here next week, I always thought they would look much better then the OEM chrome 12 year old cloudy lenses. I’ve cleaned wet sanded and polished 3 times

I used a Genuine GM Gasket.
The leaker was a Felpro ,with a valve cover that had been removed/installed several times.
This time I really cleaned the mating surfaces removing all silicone that had been used.

This morning after an overnight snowfall , we cleared the driveway and decided to stay home, no need to go out in that weather.

Scheduled my HHR for a trip to the body shop on Monday to repair the rust along the inside bottom edges of all four doors. Should take two or three days.

Modern Oil is amazing. I remember the 60's and 70's if you pulled the valve cover you were greeted by 1/4" of gunk no matter what. Now the oils don't break down they just get dirty and contaminated.

This morning, up before dawn, 5:30 am had to drive Sweetie to her appointment for tests at the hospital in St Catharines, saw a fox running down a driveway headed for the rod in front of us, a tap on the horn button got its attention, the fox stopped before dashing out in front of us.
Sweetie was happy I didn’t hit it, could have busted up the front facia, grille or worse!

Yes it is! One must be very aware of critters on the move!

Today no HHR activity, just gonna kick back and relax, we’ll have a high of 40 F and that will make a mess as the roads turn to slush!
