You know, I've heard of that before, where people suggest doing it after buying used car...so it learns your driving habits, not the previous owners. Although I'm sure sure I'm all set since I've had the car over 2 years now...I doubt it even remembers the guy before me!

My one question though is this...if you unplug the ECM, wouldn't that also erase any updates and reflashes that have been done at the dealership? I know occasionally there will be updates that the dealer will reflash the PCM for, and I just wondered if unplugging it to reset the adaptive learning would also clear those flashes? Anyone know?

 

I drove back from MI on 75 and time just flew by. No speeding this time, but it still went quick. Cruise control is an amazing thing.

 

@ Kid.............. No.... a "flash" is more permanent than the "learn feature". Short of some catastrophic failure the only way to alter the flash memory is with a "re-flash".

i removed my old air ride compressors and tanks, and installed a new Air Zenith compressor and a 4 gallon tank. one step closer to finishing the interior
