I did have a gloved hand.. out of instinct, since I had the wrench in my dominant (right) I grabbed for it with my empty (left) hand.

 

It happens to everyone sooner or later Kev, just chalk it up to experience.

 

 

HA! Try doing an oil change on a hot motor, then dropping the drain plug into the oil and instinctively dunking your hand in hot oil trying to grab the drain plug... yep you're not alone Kev! Back OT: nothing crazy, just drove it to work.

got the old mirrors and CHEVROLET vinyl off. goo gone soon to remove the old adhesive of the lettering, and got the new spot mirrors on there. it was long over due, and the new ones look great. and fwiw, great way of removing them is using a car wash pressure washer. like a charm.
Also got the wheels re-spun for weights and torqued again. I know, its counter productive, but its free, and I still had vibrations.

 

I backed it out of the garage, rolled my 17" winter wheels out for some photos for someone. Rolled the 17's back in, pulled the car back in and closed the door..... Too dang hot for much else outside.

It hit 100 here today, and it's 89 degrees in the house.... Humidity is above 90%


Oh yeah, did some more hand polishing on the new wheels.

 

Besides impact they are doing good I can't seem to keep the factory paint from chipping either. I used the adhesion enhancer then three coats of sandable primer then base color to taste with 3 or four coats of clear on the top. When the chips come this is the poop http://www.drcolorchip.com/

So far I have only gone at them with a rag and some Mothers mag polish...

I went to Harbor Freight today and grabbed a spraygun for contact cement. Way too hot out to do the headliner, over 100 today and humid. But I am ready to do it as soon as it drops a few degrees. Recovering my light gray headliner in Black Suede material.

Still trying to come up with some kind of a design for doing an embossed effect. I may just have a gruesome type scene airbrushed on it. Or a combo of embossed and airbrushed. Not sure. Got to find a Good airbrush Artist.

I grabbed 3 new 8" buffing wheels while I was there and got myself an Air Eraser Kit. Looks like an air brush, but uses white aluminum oxide powder as a sandblaster of sorts. You can etch glass or clean parts. Gonna try it out on my Blower Polishing project, and see what it does in the hard to reach areas.

I was also thinking of trying some glass etching, If I can do it, i'd like something like this on my front side glass. Gotta get some glass and see.
And Practice first.
I have vinyl plotters that sign shops use, so I can cut sandblast masks to do the etching. Another Custom project for later on.
