Had the tires emptied and filled back up with Nitrogen. I stopped in on Tuesday and guy told me $4.99 a tire and 1-1/2 hour wait. Made an appointment for today and showed up 15 minutes early. They pulled it right in and took care of it. I walked next door to my bank. When I came back he told me my car was done and to have a great weekend. No Charge for the Nitrogen inflation!

Ran a few errands this afternoon, then fed and washed the HHR before having some fun on some SW Ohio back roads!

Later today: Wash and detail the SS then drive over to Jersey to spend the night. Tomorrow: heading to Philly from Jersey to attend a car show then drive back to CT after all's said and done.

It was such a beautiful Western MD day, I just had to wash the HHR. This way, the wife will let me drive it when I want.

An unexpected gift...

Today started out with errand running in the Paddy-Wagon while the lovely lady headed out antiquing in the Spousemobile, but it ended with a flat tire and an unexpected gift.

Michelle beat me home by a good margin, and I was greeted with "do you know the Carryall has a flat?", well no I didn't notice this morning. Sure enough, the old beast had a flat left front, goody! A quick call to my buddy at the tire shop confirmed that he had a 600-16 inner tube in stock(just in case). So it was off with the wheel after lunch, and then to the tire shop.

It seems that while checking the brake adjustment the other day, the tire had slipped on the rim enough during a hard stop to pinch the tube, possibly fixable but not worth the effort or time considering the cost of a tube. While I was waiting at the counter an older man asked me what the wheel was for, so I showed him a pic of the truck on my phone, he said "I got something at home you might want, gonna be here a while?....I said yes at least an hour, maybe longer.

Well twenty minutes later he came back with this, a Chevy pin I've never seen before, his Dad was a Chevy salesman in Raleigh before the war and he'd found the pin in his Dad's things. I tried to give him something for it, but he refused, just said it should go with my '37. So a big thanks to John Ahearn of Landis NC, you made my day!!

The Grinch-Mobile is looking sharp!

But isn't it about time to think about getting your sleigh tuned up for the season, and maybe Max can get some new "antlers" this year.
