Went from this...

to this...

Didn't wash the whole car because there's rain coming in the next few days, but polished up the wheels at least:

Had almost 41k on the stockers, picked up a nail this morning. Giant dent in the wallet later, I'm rocking Goodyear Eagle GTs in 245/45ZR18. I forgot how nice it is to have traction...

Nice new "sneakers" you got there Patrick, but you know that old tire was only flat on the bottom, the other 3/4 of it was just fine.

As for me, cranked up Paddy to go appliance shopping, honestly I'd forgotten the salesmen at appliance stores are even smarmier than used car salesmen...ugh!

And why in God's name would anybody ever "need" a refrigerator with a TV monitor built into the door? They have these things called "instant replays" so you get to see that thrilling buzzer beater or Hail Mary pass again if you missed it getting another cold one.

Thanks...realized when the tech told me the tires barely fit without rubbing that I should have gotten 245/40 rather than /45 but oh well. Now it looks like I'll actually have to take the wheels off to get to the headlights/fog lights though.

Thats cool HoHoR she needs red window visors.

Patrick, I didn't think that would fit but if they don't rub they fit. I bet they feel alot better, I'm running 255's.

Had to take this driveway to see my Grandsons 2nd Bday. Think we had any damage from the big snow ? You guy's running pedders want to follow me over there ?

Yeah, after all they definitely do not fit. Put a thread in wheels/tires asking about what aspect ratio works without rubbing on the stock wheels, hopefully Discount Tire will work with me Monday morning and get me fixed up. I feel like an utter moron.

Fresh Detail--Not

The rain ruined the fresh detail job on my Black SS so it did not hurt it to drive down those muddy dirt roads today...

I'm going to post a few pics on this in a separate thread but:
Drove from Buffalo to Pittsburgh in a snowstorm. Went down riding the SS on Eagle GT's. returned driving Kelly Snows on 16" rims. Both tires did very well in the white stuff. It was my first time really driving the HHR in the snow. For 3 winters I've garaged it. Overall I'm quite impressed with this car's winter driving. I managed to do 80 most of the way, except when visibility was 20 yds or so near Erie. Blew past 4x4's like they were standing still.

Is it just me, or are the rest of you amazed at the amount of dirt our tail end gets on it. Mine seems to suck all the dirt and muck from two counties, and plants it on the rear. It is going to rain but I can't take this, I got to wash it anyway.
