Teeth Schmeeth, I'd just like the "Massage Function" you got with that bad tire on. Kinda like the old days with bias ply tires that gave you the "Flat Spotted Polka" until they got round again in the morning.

Back to OT just briefly....Mine stayed parked, so if thinking about them counts as "doing something" then I did.

 

Got a nice long scan log today. MPG seems to drop off over 70mph but seems above average between 55 and 70. Passing at highway speed gives 20 psi until the car shifts back into 4th and then it drops back to 15psi. I haven't been real aggressive with the new maps so I'm pretty happy with that. I can clearly see the car's factory programmed torque curve when doing pulls from a stop since I have not adjusted the torque vs rpm vs gear map. The boost starts at about 10, jumps to 20 as I cross into 3rd, and falls back to 15 when I hit 4th. It gives kind of a rollercoaster feel to the acceleration. It feels like it is building acceleration in a non-linear fashion. (You guys with a 4cyl motorcycle know what I mean) I'm just logging fuel trims at this time in preparation for a drop-in K&N. Once I'm comfortable with my tuning, I will explore expanding the boost in lower gears and increasing/smoothing the torque and timing tables.

 

Meh... What teeth I have left are still attached.

 

I forgot to mention that I saw one of those rare Chevy Volts when I was out on my drive. I thought about taking a picture of it when I figured out what it was but it vanished into a speck in my rear-view mirror before I could grab my cell phone.

 

We have a couple of Volts around town here too. They are ok, but I drive more than 40 miles a day and my SS was less expensive to buy...

 

Workin on the M-62 Blower some more tonight.

Getting in all the little "Nooks and Crannies" is like sanding an english muffin down smooth but still maintaining the hills and valleys as they are.

Whew glad I am just about Done with all of the Tight little areas. Fingers hurt and start bleeding after an hour or so digging wet sanding paper in them and rubbing your finger tips back and forth.

I used all kinds of die grinders and mini sanders, but they can only get in areas so much, then it's finger sanding the rest of the way.

Rough Castings, SUCK!

Basically 2 more finer grits of sanding with wet/dry paper, they should go alot quicker just getting any left over deeper sand scratches out before the final buffing.
I'll be Buffing it like a wild man soon now.






Getting in these areas underneath was a pain. I know it won't be seen, But, I would Know it wasn't done Completely had I left it.




I really HOPE I can get this installed this year, got a few more parts to get and the HPTune stuff.

I was Supposed to, get off my butt this Winter and be doing it.

I Lazed out, now with a few Spring like days with some warmer temps out have me in HURRY Mode !

Hard part is pretty much over with, my finger tips are Glad on that.

I might go back out there and work on the next finer grit for awhile still tonight.

 

I'm so pissed...we had a beautiful evening here in the Atlanta area...went out, washed my 3 day old HHR because we had rain on Monday and Tuesday morning. I detailed her nicely...shined up the chrome and low and behold I come out this morning and it was raining! No rain in the forecast of course. Oh well, I guess she'll have to wait for the weekend to get washed again
