Today's project is finishing the turbo replacement on the '66 Corvair. They get jealous if I spend all of my time playing with the HHR's.

It flew in its day, only 180 gross hp which works out to about 135 or so net hp. 0-60 in about 10 seconds and it tops out at 120. Compared to a standard Corvair it really goes, the HHR's leave it in their dust.

I went an got my SS inspected(had to have it done so I could get title switched from Mi to Ohio), got the title work all squared away and plates transfered from my other HHR to the SS. After that I decided to go rinse the salt and road grime off of her so she is shiny silver and not dirty brown, lol.

I fired up the heater in the garage and gave my ride a nice bath. It was getting warm so I got out the Jax Wax and got her all shined up. I hope the wax will help keep the Ohio CRUD off the car.

You've got a '66 Corsa, too? Awsome!
Back in 1971 I got mine up to 105 - on the Harbor Freeway in downtown LA (at 1:00 AM.... ) Nice thing to say you've been over 100 - in a Corvair.

Picked SS up from dealer after having all the front bar hardware replaced....removed annoying snow then drove home thru slush salt and grime....left lane.....cuz the right lane was full of scardy cats doing 25 on a 55 hwy. Oh yeah, replacement parts were noticably better, so if the front starts feeling mushy, check your front sway bar bushings. I was picking up a noticable lean in corners, gone. (links brackets and bushings replaced, compliments of GM)
