No, jeff. U can buy any of the fobs out there for an hhr and use it. If u wanted to add the remote start aftermarket u can using a gm remote start, that how to instructs you how to.

 

I have remote start from the factory and my dic doesn't say anything about remote start when I scroll through the menu.

 

X 2, my 2LT has Remote Start & there is nothing about it in the DIC..


BTW: I do have a like new remote w/remote start button, for sale if interested shoot me a PM..

 

so neither of you had ap3 on the dash sticker,or remote start option in the dic?
all you did was the purple wire to ground mod to fool the system about the hood switch?

if thats the case i am going to revisit this as i had given up on it.

Purple wire? No. Mine came with it from the factory.
