That type of modification is not for everyone. That's too modified for my tastes.

I don't know about a Buick version of the HHR, but a GMC version would be cool & very easy for GM. The GMC's of 1947-53 were just as cool looking as the Chevys, but much less popular. Even though the HHR is different, this would be even more unique.

Those have to be the worst-designed headlights I've ever seen in my life. Looks like someone built a round housing over the existing headlights, with the results looking like Marty Feldman or something...

Is that a reflection or is there a gap between the rings and the headlight covers?

I would not either. I think the charm of the car is the modern look mixed with the old. When you force too much retro it looks fake and contrived.

Adding subtle things like vents and spears adds to the retro look without taking over. Even the wood grain looks great (as long as it's not a stick on decal or "painted" on ).

You can over do it with parts that "imply" what they "should be" rather then what they are.

If somebody likes that look than so be it. I’m sure there’s things that each of you have done to your car that others would think is ugly or doesn’t fit the look. I know there are things I’ve done to mine that others would hate but it’s my car.

If ya can't say nothin' nice, don't say anything at all.
