Grille and head lights are out there, but I'd like to see a side view to see the wood. I had a real Buick woody in College and do like them. HHR as a woody could be cool. The grille and lights are just not to my liking at all.

Yeah those lamp housings look "forced". He should have reworked the fenders to allow for standard round lights. That would have helped keep the "bug -eyed frog" look at bay.

The woody part is IMO, a bad paint job. Here's the link for all the pics: LINK

I'll say it:
That thing is garishly hideous.

Somewhere Harley Earl (the GM designer responsible for postwar styling) must be spinning in his grave.

Looked at the link. It's kinda ok. The Grille and head lights are not to my liking and even though I have a soft spot in my head for the REAL Buick woody, this is overall just a little too much for me. Woody look is ok. The skirts and chrome trim are in the same zone as the grille and head lights, but it's interesting. Took some imagination and lots of effort.

OK a painted wood "woody"......There are some really nice "woody" panels out there that rival real wood. Why paint it on? I don't get it unless the owner fancies himself a painter. I cannot see paying for a "wood" paint job.

I will bet the car does get a lot of great compliments though. Polarizing vehicles do. Either you love em of hate em.

Some painted look better than others. i was at a show yesterday and a car's interior panels, dash etc. had been painted wood grain. Until someone pointed out that it was painted, i hadn't noticed.

One of the cars up for fatured this month, killerhhr, has some sweet painted wood.
