What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
My previous car before my (black '06 LT) HHR was a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe. My wife has never had a brand new car and got the fever, so I traded my G35 for her Mazda CX9. It's funny how the title & tone of this thread is that we "gave up" our prior car for the HHR. I may have missed someone already making this point, but aren't we supposed to have *wanted* our HHRs?
By the way, I'm no longer "innocent" with respect to this forum---this is my first post!

CavittyCreep!I was happy as a pig in a donut shop to ditch my Eclipse GSX time/money pit for my HHR SS
I only wish I waited for the cash4clunkers so I could have gotten 3x what I did.
No regrets
My previous ride was a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 p/up short bed, I bought new. And I didn't give it up.
I was ready for a change..
Drove that truck for about 11 yrs. Course I had slammed it down in the weeds, & blah, blah, blah..
Prior to that one was my 1985 Chevrolet S-10 long bed, 8 yrs with that one.
No slam, I Hi-jacked that one, w/ 32" tall tires, & ....
Can't seem to leave anything stock..
But I am Chevrolet brand Loyal..

98 acura cl 3.0 the car was just gettin to the point where it was startin to need alot of exspensive repairs. so i traded it in for more than it was worth on a 06 hhr lt.so far i can say it was the best decision i have made in a long time.
1987 GMC Caballero with 188,000 miles, got 11 miles to the gallon, and I was afraid the body would snap off the frame any time. Became too unreliable to sink any money into, and my 2007 HHR LS fell into my lap at the perfect time. Sold the Caballero (El Camino) to a guy named Raul is restoring it like I always wanted to, but never had the time nor talent.
We gave up a 2000 Saturn station wagon, which actually was a really good car. We never had a single problem with it and it got 38 mpg on the highway and about 30 in the city. We opted to sell it and buy our HHR because with arthritis, it doesn't feel good on the old knee joints to have to lower yourself and then get yourself back up out of a car that sits lower. It really was a great little car though.
I traded a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC for my 2008 HHR 2LT. Honestly I was tired of the high payments and insurance of the SS/SC and wanted something with more cargo space.
I do a lot of hauling and errand-running on the weekends so the extra capacity is really nice. My payment is about $50 less and my insurance is about $50 less... so there is an extra $100 a month in my pocket.
I do miss the Cobalt's all-out speed, but the HHR should be entertaining to play with.
