What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
I traded my 2004 Dodge Ram Quad-Cab, with some mods back in July of 2010.
It really was not a vehicle I really liked, but it was the only car at the dealer lot that was going to give me a low payment, be great on gas and basically new (it is a 2010 model).
Fast-Forward 10-months later.....................
this little rig shines for us. Still not really adjusted to the appeal of the body style, but it really works well for me and the family. I am amazed in the room it has to offer. Love the additional hidden storage in the rear. I added a tow hitch to attach my bike rack to it.
Took the full house (family of four) on a 1100 mile road-trip to Colorado. It really flows GREAT, took it to the highest elevation out at Mt Evans and it was snowing and the little HHR didn't even burp when doing it. It has great control and offers very comfortable ride when taking long trips. ** I even have a Dodge Caravan and minus the room, the HHR is does it's thang WELL! **
We do plan to keep it and it just works for our family needs. I get about 28mpg in town and on the highways, I got up to 36-40mpg on that trip to Colorado

So to give up image (and whom cares what others think), I felt we did very good on this purchase from letting our Ram QC go bye, bye.
While sitting still in a LOWE's parking a 3/4 ton Ford pick up truck driver put it in reverse and pushing the entire front end of my PT Cruiser all the way back to the engine! He had a 20 foot run at it and caused over $5400 damage. I looked all over for a similar car and had no luck. I spent some time online and decided on a HHR. Very similar and a used one was an exceptional value. Now if I can convince the stealership what GM Certified really means.
Hi all. This is my very first post to the forum. I've been a member for a few days and have been browsing things over. Great site with lots of info and very passionate owners. I recently picked up a silver 2007 HHR LT and like it very much. My wife owns a 2010 Cobolt LT which is a great ride, but being 6ft 5in tall I felt the HHR is better suited to my needs.
Anyway, hello and I look forward to my future postings.
oh and my former car was a 1987 porsche 944 turbo.. sadly the head went so she's been parked until I inherent a small fortune to fix...

Trade every 15 years if its needed or not
1996 Pontiac Transport - bought new 1996 - traded with 278,000 miles & virtually no maintenance costs over all those years. It owed us nothing but brought in $750 in trade. Loving our new 2011 1LT Blackie!
(Never knew so many GTO's were even sold in 2004/5! They all seem to have been traded in for an HHR!)
