What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
First time I saw this thread...

My old Saabaru in one version of race trim. With race rubber on it, this car was loads of fun. However, it was still a Subaru at heart, so it was rattly, noisy, and all that. My SS is quiet and refined in comparison...

I had a 2009 Ford Focus SE coupe...awesome car but I needed something that could hold more cargo for my move across country. I also had a 2008 Saturn Aura XE 2.4L. Another great car, but it was leased. I stuck with GM because they gave me an extra rebate on a trade in.
first time i saw this thread also.
went from a 2003 saturn ion2 5speed to my nearly loaded used 2lt 2007
my wife's car is a loaded saturn astra, but she really likes the hhr.
i can say the ion prepared me well for bushings, end links and the usual cobalt based suspension problems.

I didn't necessarily give it up. I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier that has pretty much seen better days. It has gotten me through a lot of vacations, day trips and being a stay at home mom for almost 10 years. I started running into an overheat problem, the engine got refurbed, hit by a deer TWICE, defrost doesn't work, AC BARELY works and it's just seen better days. That's all. So I happily gave it up in the divorce. Now I still have a Chevrolet Metro (1998) that has 249,000 miles on it and STILL RUNS! :) But I adore my HHR of course. :)
