I traded my 98 Ford Contour equipped with a 2.5 V6, 5 speed & 170,000 miles for my 11 HHR 2.2 auto. I miss the quiet power of the V6 & the super smooth shifting 5 speed (the best manual transmission I've ever driven), but won't miss all the repair expense. The HHR looks to be MUCH easier for the do it yourselfer to work on, & parts seem cheaper too. Gas mileage is the same highway between the two, the Contour got 2-4 better in the city. Love the HHR radio, how quiet it is inside, & all the space in back. So far I'm happy with the HHR, I hope it lasts at least 10 years & 150,000 more miles.

My "toys" are: 68 AMC AMX 343 4 speed, 70 AMC Rebel Machine 390 5 speed, 71 AMC Javelin AMX 401 auto, & 79 Ford F150 Ranger Lariat 4 WD 351 auto. That's where my user name comes from.

I have up my 1980 Chevy Malibu Landau coupe for my 2008 2lt HHR. One of the best decisions I've made in a while. Even though I loved that old car, it was gonna cost me much money in the long run

Got to park the 4x4 suburban and only use it to go to the ranch once a week. Bought a Camaro 2ss/rs and it is the daily driver for me but the wife loves the HHR and sold her Deville!

Traded in my 1989 Ford Crown Victoria LTD for '08 HHR LS. I was spending just as much as my new car payment is in gas a month.

I woulda taken that Malibu off you hands! Beautiful car, but you got a nice swap. I don't think you will have any problems rocketing down the roads in that SS! :) Welcome!

I gave up my Pontiac Montana and I was so glad to do so lol. I wanted out of the mini van so bad and both the wife and I really liked the look of the HHR so we traded in the van and got a 2011 HHR.
