what is that light for?

I just bought my 06 2lt last night and then went out with a buddy. On the way home, I noticed a light on the ceiling, that i never noticed before.

It appears to come on with the headlights.

The manual says NOTHING about this light...

If this car had a sunroof, the controlles for the sunroof would be in the same area.

Anyone have any idea what im talking about?

I'm asking because the light is a little annoying at night.

Thanks

Sunbound

That light is to illuminate your power window switches in the middle console. Put your finger over it at night and you will see the difference.

Just gives a nice glow for your center console at night.

That little light for lighting up the window control area. If you look when you are driving at night, the window controls are not lighted.

Some have changed the bulb in it, while others have covered it up with various stick on things so they aren't annoyed by it.

Trust me...you'll get used to it.

I call it "mood lighting". My window switches are on the door, but since I have a manual I assumed it was to light up the shifter. Soft blueish tint to mine as well.

yeah, soft blueish/purplish tone to it.

It didnt really bother me as much as my passenger... he would not give up on finding what this light was for...

Makes sense though... to light up the window buttons.... youd think chevy would have just put lighted buttons in...

LOL
