Man, I should've bought the HHR instaed of my Silverado. I get 15.7 combined with just under 2000 miles on it. Maybe in a couple of years I'll trade the Silverado in for a 2.0L supercharged HHR.

Mileage

That is a picture of driver information display which isn't accurate , to accurately measure gas mileage you have to fill up the gas tank to a set point, such as second click on gas pump shutoff. Then drive till the tank is near empty, refill to same setpoint, second click on gas shutoff. Then divide gas input into mileage traveled since last gas fillup. This will equal MPG the Driver information display is an estimate of MPG! Usually off by a few MPG.

I have actually found that the DIC in the HHR has been on the low side (at least on mine) I am consistently averaging .5-1.4 higher than what the DIC says. All of my other vehicles have been on the optomistic side.

I'm gonna disagree...this is the less accurate measure of the two...the DIC has been pretty much spot on...and I reset it every tank allong with my trip A and average speed

How can actual input compared to miles traveled be less accurate than the on board display? Actual consumption compared to miles is the most accurate indication of mileage. If it works for you, OK, but the proper way is to measure actual input against actual miles traveled.

DIC uses an algoryth based on throttle inputs, driving speed and engine speed, and a few more inputs then calculates an estimated fuel economy. I use the same method parky uses and get between 23.5 to 24.8 MPG.

It's gotta be that the ocean breeze really affects fuel economy.
At only 800 miles on my 2LT, with 95% city driving in Miami, and most trips are less than 5 miles, I'm getting only 18 MPG.
Looking forward to 1st road trip to Disney to see how mileage is.
