What sold you on the HHR?

I was just thinking about how much I love my HHR. Being that I bought it about 45 days ago, I remember the first thing that got me hooked. So I thought I'd see what ya'll said.

Mine was the feeling of surprise at how smooth she drove.
I had rented one and was going back in to tell the enterprise folks to give me something else. The wife said just take it. I was REALLY surprised at how smooth she drove.

So with everyone else, was it the MPG? Looks? Features? Price?

30 MPG.. and 260 HP, now 290 HP with the stage kit
a $2500 rebate and employee pricing.

and the ability to haul alot of my stuff in the back because I own and maintain a 3 family house.

I used to have a 05 fullsize van, got killed on the cost of a fillup @ $4 a gallon

Thumbs up

I liked the looks when the HHR first came out, but when they started making Panels, I was hooked..

Took quite a while to get just what I wanted, but patience paid off & it is sitting out in my shop now..

It blows my mind the people that come up to me & ask all kinds of questions about my Panel... Everybody digs it !!!!

Plus if my OL ever kicks me out, I can bunk in the back of it....

Couldn't do that in my former S-10 on a rainy night...

The body shape, the 17" forged wheels, Sunburst Orange, just enough chrome detail, all black interior. I had to have one. Mine is 2 years old with 23K miles and looks as good as the day I brought it home, actually better.
BTW....my wife hates it!

Went for a Cobalt, left with an HHR.

Never noticed them until I saw one when I was researching the Cobalt SS.

My 2008 SS was within a couple of hundred $$ from a new Cobalt SS so I looked harder.
290/315 possible with ~30 MPG, more seating, bigger storage space and brutally handsome.
The more I looked the more I liked.

I knew I was keeping it within the first mile on the test drive but took a 40 mile ride anyway because it was so much fun.

13K later and no regrets

Styling, Gas Mileage, 2500 rebate and the way it drove. Test drove many vehicles and real liked the way the HHR was laid out and the interior room for a small vehicle.

I had been doin some research for a new car that would allow me to haul a lot of stuff that didn't need to be exposed to the elements and that would allow me to carry more that one other person with me. I was deadset on getting a panel and installing rear seats until we found out my wife was pregnant. Still got an HHR but it's not the panel I want, but its been growing on me

I rented an HHR LT2 before I purchased. I always try to rent whatever vehicle I purchase for a weekend to make sure I an satisfied with it. Since I am handicapped, the large accessible rear low hatch area makes it easier to load my three wheeled mobility scooter...plus the front drivers side legroom, quiet cab area, neat info center, XM and OnStar were a plus. Got the two thousand rebate plus another 1000 off for my GM points and the dealer was selling at Employee pricing all made for a great deal.
