What will replace your HHR?

I don't ever plan on getting rid of it. Unless something happens(knock on wood) I plan to drive the wheels off of it, and then rebuild it, bigger and badder than it was before.

Probably a Vette. As old as I'm getting, it will probably be my last one. In fact, I've been looking at the 2015 prices the past couple of weeks as well as the available options. I'd like to get a Z06 (again because it will probably be my last one), but currently, GM does not offer employee pricing on that model.

When this HHR gives up the ghost, I plan on either getting an SS, or a Buick Regal GS. Possibly a Subaru, ha ha complete change from my past tastes

We will see what is out there in 10 or 12 years. Than we will probably just keep our HHRs.

We got over six good years of service out of our HHR. It was primarily my wife's car and when she retired, she wanted a regular car. Initially, we bought a 1997 Acura 3.2 TL after selling the HHR but it was always going to be a temporary replacement. It was a deal we couldn't pass up and has since been passed on to one of the younger family members. Ultimately, she ended up with two vehicles to replace the HHR; a 2014 Kia Rio to use as a daily driver/grandma car and a 2010 2010 Mercedes Benz C300 Sport when she wants to drive something less utilitarian.

I love my HHR, buuut I miss the utility of my old truck. I hate renting trucks to pick up a load of lumber or something like that. I miss trail riding in my old jeep too. Probably going to get a 4x4 short box diesel truck next.

Since my '06 has 139,000 miles on it, I started looking at new GM cars. I like the Sonic hatchback, but it feels too small, I like the Buick Encore, but the convenience package runs the price up to $28K, which is too much for a Korean car. I like the Ford Escape which when similarly equipped as the Buick comes in at $24K, still a bit much. There are Kia's or Hyundai's similarly equipped are $23K.

Chevy will bring in the Trax in 2015 which is a Buick Encore clone, and I hope that they just don't make it cheap, but I know they will.

I like the hatchback style. I run the HHR with the back seat down which can be used as a "truck" a I have carried an engine/transmission in there. Hared to get in. I did have a Suzuki Sidekick 4 door 20 years ago and their rear hatch opened like a door, which made stuffing stuff in there easier.

GM seems to have a lot of quality issues in their build process of late, but even Chrysler and Ford are having issues.
