No they were reversed traction bars.
The thing had a steel dog house, and still would lift the front wheels just enough to really load the rear.

I too have been looking for a replacement for my 2010 Chevy HHR LS with about 135,000 miles on it. I've test drove a couple 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's in Front Wheel Drive and they seem like a good replacement for the HHR?

Not a replacement, but I bought a 2012 BMW 328i F30 a few weeks ago from a friend. It will be used alternating with the HHR for my carpool commute to work, & just generally for a fun car.

I don't find anything that meets my likes and needs as much as my HHR, so I have been trolling the web looking for a low mileage SS.
I found an SS panel locally, but haven't been able to get a deal put together yet.

I have been tempted by an SSR, but the cubic dollars is more than I want to spend on a daily driver.

SSR: Not to mention certain parts are no longer being produced. & it weighs well over 4K. Just saying, only cause for a while I thought I needed one.

Good Luck on the SS Panel Deal..

2006ls

I wrecked a 2006 LS a few years back, and I really wanted another HHR, Had no luck for a couple months, then one day out of the blue I saw another 2006 at a small independent dealer/repair shop.

got that with just 44K miles on it and my insurance paid for it in full.
Still have it today with just 70K on it now.

I'm happy with it, but I do need to put some money into it and get the bushings replaced on the front sway bar and put some decent rotors and pads on it.

Cool you found such a low mile one.. And any brand will need some wear items eventually..

I considered the Scion xB while looking at the HHR's as well. I liked the interior of the HHR better...
