How does one determine the year of manufacture of an HHR, from the vin or is it elsewhere? I'm looking to buy a 2011 panel but I want to be sure it's a 2011.

 

I'm sure someone else will have different answers but inside the door - you'll have the manufacture date I believe.

 

Also, I believe the vin number will tell you. Maybe one of the moderators will offer to check it for you.

 

Here this MAY help you. The VIN, as suggested, will give you the most accurate method of identifying year of a vehicle (unless of course, the VIN plate was altered or swapped).

As illustrated, the year of a vehicles is the 8th digit from the right.

Counting backwards from the last number in the VIN the 8th digit is the year. All HHRs were produced at Ramos Plant which is VIN code S. So a 2011 would have a BSxxxxxx, with the last 6 digits being numbers.

A = 2010
B = 2011

and so on...
