(Dancing and Hugging Wheelie on his hood)

YAY!!, Wheelie is back from the car hospital! ....he looks good as new! NO MORE DENTS! ....I'm very happy with the mechanic's work, it doesnt even have a speck of evidence that dents were there!, It's perfect!..THANK GOODNESS!!

Ok...What did this cost me? ...With tax, it came out to be $217.50...Not too bad I think, I think it was a good investment...Hey, Wheelie saved me $669.77 in annual gas costs last yr, so doing this for him was the least i could do.

Now I'm off to celebrate, to FONG'S Chinese Restaurant I go!!

So you and Wheelie are right in the heart of New Orleans? Forgive me for asking but how did you make out during Katrina? Lots of folks bad mouth New Orleans but when I visited in the summer of 2004 I loved it. Was visiting my wife down at Keesler in Biloxi and took a couple of trips over to Nawlins..in fact we spent the 4th there watching the fireworks

I felt like a little part of me died when I saw what happed in NO, Gulfport and Biloxi and Ocean Springs...such a beautiful area..

Did my little Voodo shop across from Jackson Square survive? Was across from a Walgreens if I remember correctly..not into Voodoo but was a neat shop for t-shirts etc

Hey Goose,

My family survived Hurrican Katrina...OBVIOUSLY.. ..but the events leading up to our evacuation is still in our minds, i remember it well.

August 28, 2005, we evacuated from our home, we drove in my brother's Toyota Matrix. (He doesnt have it anymore, he traded it in for a Corolla) to Houston Texas, where we stayed at a hotel for about 5 days, (it was all paid for by the hotel), after that, My brother left his car at the airport, where we FLEW to Miami Florida, where my sister in my nephew live.

but while we were in Texas, we could see on the news that New Orleans was submerged in water, EVERYTHING in the French Quarter was damaged or destroyed. (the shop you mentioned may be no more by now) we were not allowed back to New Orleans for about 4 months after the storm.

once we did arrive home, we could see what the storm did to our house.....mold and mildew all over our living room walls, all our kitchen appliances were gone, there were some traces of mildew in each of the bedrooms, but not major, we got it fixed, but the only room that was most damaged was mine....I lost most of my posessions. ...the car I had before was a 1992 teal Toyota Corolla, it was smashed by my brother's basketball goal and it was considered a total loss...all i have as a memory of my Corolla is a video I took about 4 years ago when it snowed in Kenner. (It RARELY snows in Louisiana) on Christmas day. That little car served me well, I had it for 9 years..I miss it dearly.

Now, present day, Life here in N.O. is slowly coming back, new businesses are popping up, the economy is going up, but there are still many people here who are living in trailers, there are 2 trailers still in my block, the people just don't have the money to fix up their houses. I pray for them every day.

June 1st of 2006 is when I adopted Wheelie, and he has helped me go on. life for me is back the way it used to be, well, not EXACTLY the way it was, but better then is was 2 yrs ago.

Sorry to read about everything you went through with Katrina. I have family in Mandeville and they got extremely lucky - had some minor flooding in their yard and downed trees & whatnot, but their house made it through pretty well.

I miss New Orleans, although I have no doubt that modern-day N.O. is a far cry from how it was the last time I was down there a number of years ago.

Another week is begining for Wheelie and I, Monday is turning out to be a very nice day, the sun is shining, blue skies everywhere, SOOOOOOO....I'm planning to take Wheelie to the lake today and admire the peaceful water. I might buy a burger combo meal and have a picnic with him..

I have been searching for companies that make racing decals for automobiles, I have created my own stylized 7 number so I can put it on Wheelie's front doors. also, Im going to put 1 of my cartoon characters on his rear doors and on his hood, in other words I'm going to dress Wheelie up as a race car...ummm...wagon..LOL ..I hope I can get them for a good price, now that I have Wheelie's dents removed, I can put some cool racing decals on them and make Wheelie look RACEY!

I've given up searching for my camera, I have a feeling I may have lost it somewhere, so I am going to buy another one..and as soon as I do, I will start clicking away and snapping pictures of Wheelie, I will do a before picture, then an after picture, with Wheelie's new decals on.. I can't wait to get them!!

untill next update!
