Very tough room indeed! I kinda like it myself (just my opinion). I would like to see it in person. SEMA cars can be made quite extreme. When I was going to SEMA back in the 80's you would see everything the mind could imagine. There were cars some liked and some didn't. All our HHR's are different in one way or another, isn't that what makes this so special of a group. We each have our own tastes, doesn't make it bad or good. Just makes it our own.

I think its the price in which makes this room so tough.

 

I like most of what he had done, except the grille. I think that is just about the ugliest grille I've seen. I said it when I first saw it and my opinion hasn't changed. I think the rear end is one of the best done on a HHR I've seen. Interior is nice if you like suede. I'd like to know how he did a supercharger, nitrous, and a GMPP intake though! I don't beleave he did have the mechanical stuff he says. Where is all this GMPP stuff he says he used?

 

alot of those "gm performance parts" he lists dont exist. its a cool car but deceit is not a way to sell something

 

I kinda like the overall effect and I can definitely appreciate all the body work and interior work. Who knows what's under the hood, and whether he's lying or not, but you'd probably want to test drive it anyway before you bought it. I will say with the work involved, being a SEMA car and a magazine feature car, it's probably worth it. He's definitely got that into it. And who knows, it might really run. I've seen some 24k gold plated, turntable cars that actually ran pretty good on the street.

 

I'm not absolutely sure about this BUT,......

if he paid $1.00 for the car, it was either a salvage or non-drivable on public streets. Many, but not all, of the SEMA vehicles are idea vehicles that manufacturers commission. As such, the vehicle is purchased from them for a nominal amount.

That being said....I do like the car. But IMO it's not worth $50K, especially if it can't be driven on the street.

As far as the stated GM Performance Parts, that could be true. But used for display purposes only....nothing says the car is a everyday operating vehicle. The 1000 miles indicated was probably acquired during the build process and on and off trailers, at show events (GDZHHR.....were you not in the same situation with Bob and Hahn?).
