GM announced they are aiming at all electric within a few years.
If it ain't electric don't count on any new GM car models. They are committed to 30 new electric models by 2025.

Electric vehicles, crazy wild sound when put in Reverse ........

When I first heard it,...it shocked me and I thought it was just that one Van/Suv

Since then I have heard it with every EV that happens to be near where I park most days to have my bag lunch and spend an hour reading in a quiet water front location.
Not just one brand either
I would never accept that level of awful noise.

Sounds like a space craft landing. .

Probably on purpose, same as the noise maker they have at low speed to warn pestestrians.

Good Guess.

I never thought of that.

I'll take the beeper anyday. Just my opinion ...

X 2 Same here. GM is said to be paying out 1 Billion for the Chevy Bolt EV fiasco. Seems it likes to burn down & if it's in a garage, that will burn as well.

They can have them. Firefighters are being specially trained to put out EV fires. At least that is what I read.

I specifically got my HHR because after trying other vehicles as my "beater" car, I wanted one that was inexpensive, could carry all my stuff, including long ladders and bulky stuff like hose racks and bags of mulch, good on gas, durable and easy and inexpensive to fix and maintain, and had some type of "style" to it. I looked at the Malibu Maxx but those are even more rare than used HHRs. I also looked at the Dodge Caliber but was scared off by the CVT and also because they're pretty rare nowadays in good shape at a reasonable price. I previously had a Cobalt in my family and it was a good and safe car, especially when it got totaled and my daughter was uninjured.

It's funny how people rave about foreign cars, Asian cars in particular. I sold a 2000 Acura TL to get my HHR and as a so-called luxury car it left a lot to be desire. The timing belt was a ticking time bomb and would almost cost more than the car was worth to replace, the paint was like it was burned off - the typical Honda clear coat failure, and I also found out that Honda doesn't particularly make the best transmissions, at least on the model I bought. Yes, the HHR has a cheap, plasticky interior and the engine isn't the smoothest, but as an all around car, I'll take it any day over a host of foreign cars.

The reason I like the “cheap, plasicky interior” is because it ages well. “Luxury” interiors with soft surfaces and chromed plastic gewgaws don’t; they get all torn up and worn and are harder to clean, anyway.

I like the look of the HHR and have owned 3 full size Suburbans in the past.

I hear ya. The Acura I got rid of had about five different colors for the dash, plus it was cracked in several places. My HHR dash looks brand new! (Of course that could be because the little bitty windshield doesn't let much light in, but I digress, lol.)
