Will this combo of wheels and tires fit?

Sorry to bother you guys, but I can't get a straight answer from my local tire place. I'm considering buying a set of tires and rims from a private party and am not sure if they'll clear everything without problems. They're going on a stock 2008 Panel LS (no brake mods). The rims are a 5X110 bolt pattern and are 17x7.5. with a 45mm offset. The tires are 225/65/17s. From what I can determine online they should be okay EXCEPT I'm concerned about the offset. Before I plunk my money down, does anyone have a definitive answer? Much obliged.

Those tires are way too tall. Will rub the strut perch.

Okay. Let me amend that a bit.
I can separate the tires from the wheels. Sooo... can I still use the wheels with lower profile tires? Still not sure about the offset (Sorry Don, even with the offset info I'm a bit lost... thanks though).
Thanks to both of you for your quick responses.

Definitely too tall. I found a chart, sometimes is more useful. I haven't verified it's accuracy.

Tire Height Chart

26.2" is the max height, or tire diameter. I've seen some say 26.3" , I don't know which is correct.

26.2 is the max. That spring perch on the strut is just a tenth of an inch or so away at that!

So 235/50-17's would be right there, but I'd use 255/45-17's

255 is kinda wide for a 7.5" wheel. 225/50-17 would be good.

Tire Width for a Wheel/Rim Size Chart

Joe, the wheel looks like a good fit, you can use these charts to help choose a tire size.

Yes, the 255/45-17 tire calls for an 8 to 9.5 inch wide rim.
225/45-17 show for a 7.5 inch wide rim .
Good point.
My bad
