Glad you made it safely. Hope your brother improves. Head injuries are somewhat unpredictable, just keep hoping for the best.

Your picture of the HHR in the snow, reminds you why you moved to FL, and me of why I am not in Michigan and living in Southern California. Like you I certainly can drive on snow and ice, but why??????

The one positive is that the plows get out and clear the roads as soon as the snow stops. But only 29 today and forcast to go down to 10 or so the next couple of days.

Made it back to Florida, Saturday. Running 30+ mpg most of the way. No real change in my brother's status, still on the ventilator, heavily sedated and still waiting for pace maker installation. Since I was being told it was one day at a time before any decisions would be made, I can wait in 70 degree weather rather than 30 degree.

My brother was sitting up in bed watching football Sunday. Finally showing signs of improvement. I plan to make another trip north in early February as he may be in a rehab center by then.

My brother called me tonight from his hospital room using his cell phone. His voice was raspy after the three week with tubes down his thoat. He was complaing about the "mush" they call food. He should be going into the rehab center soon. A real encouraging sign.

A side note, at a meeting I was at tonight, one of the guys said his mother came down with a "cold" which turned to pneumonia/flu. It was a resistant strain of pneumonia and she passed away Christmas eve and she was only 62 years old. Get your flu shot, there is some nasty bug out there.

Glad your brother is doing better. Complaining about the food is a good sign!
