There are findings that say there is more oil resource than previously thought. Gas will be around for a long time...unless you buy into the "sky is falling-I love Algore" mentality.

I beleive if we have one of these not being able to drive will be the least of your worries. Anything with Solid State Curcuitry will be toast. The only things electrical that will still run are going to be the old Vaccum Tube based stuff. Vehicles with points for ignition will still run, depending on what else gets fried, such as voltage regulators and what not. An EMP would cripple the world.

Not so much that oil wont be available..more that it will be forgotten as an energy source for vehicles....

I saw a 2 door version of that year comet last Monday at a used car lot..... white, looked clean, restored, probably partially modified (wheels at least were not stock) but I didn't stop to look closer......
