I took a look at the owners manual, and found how to get into the DIC. But my model does not have an option for Remote Start.

Edit: isnit possible that the used Ignition housing I replaced.it with, which did work last night. Could poaaible have gone bad overnight, and is now malfuctioning like the one it originally had?

The ignition switch is only a sensor that sends a signal. I doubt that it has anything to do with anything. Somebody probably thought that is would work like a pre 1996 car and supply switched power for the radio. You need to find out where the switched power comes from. The stock radio harness does not supply switched power, that is what the GMLAN adapter does. Are there chimes when you leave the keys in with the door open and turn signals?

Did this start before or after the new radio? I meant does the self start happen after the doors are locked or does it happen if the door is open. Does it only happen when the doors are locked?

I will take a look at it tomorrow and see where the radio gets it power. There is a chime, and the turn sigmla.come from a relay attached to the radio harness. I thought the switch supplied power to the engine, thus starting the car. Which now makes sense as to how it is only a sensor. Thank you for clearing that up. this started 2 months after the radio was installed, so yes after the new radio. And it will happen with the door unlocked, both with the driver door opened or closed.

I'm looking at the connections for the radio, and this is what it looks like.

I’m thinking that’s a mess, the bare white wire? That bundle of yellow wires? Cutting and splicing into the factory harness is always trouble, google Crutchfield and see their wire harness schematics possibly you’ll see the problem.

I'm looking at the diagram and the wh/bk, is listed as 10-volt reference(uk3). But everything else looks to have been done correctly. The steering wheel cable was spliced also.

I don’t know why, the steering column harness was spliced.

it is connected to the "Steering Wheel Key(+)" to the radio harness.

I see several bare wire ends. Doesn’t matter if it might be wired correctly. Those bare ends are an invitation to ground and short out any “hot” wires.
Makes you wonder what else is buggered up on that car.

If there is an option in the personalization menu to enable/disable remote start it has remote start from the factory. AP3 does not mean the same thing in 2011.
In order to start the BCM needs to send several messages to the ECM then the ECM needs to send a signal to the starter relay and the run/start relay. The key only sends a "start" signal to the BCM.
My guess is that somehow the wiring to the Retained Accessory Power relay got messed with and is now sending a start signal when it is shutting things like the radio down. If the radio was installed by blindly splicing wires, this is a good possibility.
ISSUE SOLVED

So after going through the radio harness, and going back and forth between the wiring diagram and the connections on the radio I dindn't find anything out of place. I did tape the connections that were bare. I then went to look at the BCM. and to my surprise, there was some type of residue on the Red connector. Disconnected the BCM, gave it a good spray with electrical cleaner, let it dry and installed it back on. The car starts, runs and doesn't start on its own. And will be back on the road tomorrow. I'd like to thank the people that helped get the issue resolved, and hope to learn more on this forum as any other issues emerge.
