This forum needs a "Like" button for comments. Some of you are darn funny, & a Like button would allow us to acknowledge that.

I have to admit, after hearing so many horror stories of things going wrong after taking the car in for the recall, I'm starting to question if I should do mine. Mine's a 2011, supposedly they already have the "good" switch, as long as it wasn't changed out with an old style switch that was still in the parts pipeline. Carfax shows nothing being done.

1.5 years, 20,000+ miles & not a single problem or complaint. Why mess with that??

I checked the VIN # of my 2009 LS on the GM website and it shows no pending recalls, so apparently the dealer fixed everything before I took delivery this past Friday. I think the resell values will come back for the HHR next year, just like they did for the Prius' after all the bad PR on the runaway Toyota cars died down a year later.

The 14113 recall is the number for the ignition recall.

Lucky. According to my dealer receipt, 14133 is for the new keys. 14092 is for the ignition switch.

My understanding was, some HHR's only needed the Tumbler Replaced, Others needed a whole column workover.. That's what my
Dealer Rep told me..

That's not it.
All will get the new ignition switch and (supposed) to get 2 new keys. The key cylinder will also be replaced if it wasn't done under the previous tsb/recall from about 2 years ago.
My key cylinder got changed out on the previous one, so they didn't replace that again under this recall.

My dealer so far has been pretty good to me. Good to have a good dealer with good techs. Now the Free repair is even better :)

You know that there is an identical thread right next to this one. What new insight comes with this one?

So, I merged them.
