I have a deal on an 2011 SLE2-4cyl-FWD-MSRP-$27485.00 for $80 back of invoice and a $1000 Loyalty rebate. Gonna sleep on it.

Hardly any of the lots down here have more than a few Terrains on them. Either they are selling good are they are not making many.

I figure I can either bite the bullet on the trade now or drive it a couple more years and give it to one of the grandkids.

I had read somewhere about all the insulation and the noise cancellation system they had put in the Terrains and I believe it works pretty good.

The only thing I didn't like on this one is it has the upgrade 18" wheels but it doesn't seem to effect the ride as I drove one with the 17s on it.

I was little worried about the 4cyl over the V6 but even though it weighs about 800 more than the HHR it seems to have about the same get up and go from 70 as the HHR. From all I have read the gas milage is around 24-25 on the road instead of the 32 they have on the sticker. I can live with that as I was only getting about 28-29 on the HHR.

We were looking at a Equinox LTZ V6 2WD. We may need the V6 for towing a small trailer.

It stickered right around $32K but with the new rebate I got and the GM card money I can almost get $4K off on my own. THe dealer I think will come off Sticker a couple of thousand.

The GMC and Chevy are selling pretty well. At least there are some on the lots now as in the past there were none.

I have had a loaner 4 cylinder and have driven the V6. If it were not for towing the 4 would be enough for the 2WD.

We were thinking of buying but we are getting into doing some building here and want to get it out of the way and sell out present house first.

We would be replacing a Grand Prix with this. I like the Chevy more but the GMC has grown on me some. I am still a little neutral on the nose yet. If they gave me a better deal I could like it more. I am a GMC guy already with several in the past.

If you like the HHR you will really like the GMC. For the little more they cost you get a lot of vehicle. The loaner I had was a lS base model with a sticker at $24K and it was a really nice vehicle. It did not feel as if it was a base model.

The 18" and 19" wheels ride much the same as the 17". They each are geared and the suspension is tuned to each. The 19" have a little more turn in and feel in the steering. For the most they go with the larger wheels for stlying. While it handles well it is by no means a canyon burner.

About the nose part most of the articles I have read is you either love it or hate it. It looks more truck like.

Today I got to compare both setting about 10 feet apart. I liked the more curved Equinox but the Terrain has the big chrome top part and also around the whole grill and just looks sharper. There is an option that puts a chrome grill in the Equinox but haven't seen one.

Going to sleep on it and see how I feel about the whole deal in the morning.

That $10K trade in chaps me but I doubt I could sell it for enough difference to make up for the lesser taxes and enough to mess with all the hassle.

Had my Versa on the net for over 6 weeks and never got a call. Sold it to a friend's grandaughter.

Exclamation Run away!

Why would you want another one of these thing! Are you mad as a hatter? I cannot wait to unload ours! Ours is an 08 with 45k and it has to go to the shop again. It was there 3 weeks ago. In 45k the thing has been to the shop like 7 or 8 times. Never for the same thing. Some time they have it for a day then other times they have it for a week. I think if it was not for the help of this form I would have set it on fire long ago. We should have just kept driving the 9yr old Mustang GT.

Don't know what you're describing as noise. Aside from the occasional rattle or squeak from a cheap car, my SS is pretty quiet. True, I drive a Jeep with 31" mud terrains in the summer and don't find that even loud with no top or doors but unless you're comparing a caddy, I'd say the noise and comfort level of the SS is as good as any other car I've driven.

Sorry you feel this way. Mine has 19K and except for a tire that keeps losing air, I've not been to the shop in 3 years. For a newer car, I'd say it's pretty reliable.

I'm with you Jeda. I have 29K on mine and have never been to the dealer except for an oil change about every 8K.

The only reason I am even thinking of trading() is we travel a lot and would like a little more room for cargo and front seat room.

The Terrain has the movable back seats. When you slide them 8" forward a floor panel slides with them and adds that much more storage to the back.

On the quiteness thing here is what the blurb says about the Terrain:

"It's a tight, quiet interior. Unique to the four-cylinder model is a special active noise cancellation system that works through both the built-in audio system and a few dedicated speakers to allow the engine to run at its most efficient RPM range. It also prevents what engineers call a "booming" resonance in the cabin that would otherwise occur."

I still haven't made up my mind on the deal as that "trade-in" number sticks in my craw. I not going to say I am going to sleep on it as here I am up at 4AM thinking on it. I haven't had a car note for 18 months and am out of debt 100% so don't want to go there are turn loose of that much cash with a 2.9%finance number.

Almost 24k on mine and I haven't had a single issue yet. Sorry you've had such rotten luck. Out of morbid curiosity what were the problems, since they were all different?

Not sure on the specifics of lemon laws, but I've got to think you might qualify...something to look into, for peace of mind's sake.

EDIT: And I shouldn't be posting when my brain hasn't sufficiently warmed up...mine is an '09, not an '08, so my experience doesn't really apply here.

That's alright Devils at my age my brain is never warmed up.

I have researched the Terrain more and don't like the feedback I am getting
on the 4 cyl with the 6 speed auto. I got rid of a 7 month old Camry because of the constant downshifting/upshifting.

With the 4 speed auto in the HHR it verly seldom has to downshift. My 08 Altima and 07 Versa with the CVT spoiled me on that count.

Decided on keeping the HHR for a few more years.

I had several weeks in a Nox 2.4 six speed. I found no issues with the tranny. If anything it was smooth and always found the gear I needed to move the heavy vehicle well with such a small engine. GM really did a good job on the tranny and gearing to get the MPG and performance out of such a small engine. At least that was what I found.

I got in expecting to have to kill it to merge onto the freeway and came away with the idea I could really live with the small engine and be happy.

If anything by waiting you may be able to get better deals. I suspect the economy is not going to get better and car sales will be slow in the future.
