I have the top line 6 disc Pioneer system.

GM MGR you said in one of your post on the Tone Volume control that the new radios did not have that tone control because they were form different vendors.

Could this change in vendors prohibit the addition of XM to the 09 radio?

Just a thought?

my last visit there today they gave me a build sheet and it wasnt installed at the factory. but what I want to know is , was there a mistake at the factory, because all of the feedback I get is that its supposed to be standard in this model. thats why there is no parts cataloge # maybe ? when I push the cat button all it says is xm feature. the vin is 8s644652

Hmmm not sure what to say. All I know is when I bought mine the option package that was available for my region was "Sun and Sound" With that was the sunroof, 6 disc in dash changer, 7-speaker pioneer system, and XM radio with first 3 months included.

If you can find the option list availability for when you bought the car and it has the XM radio part of the package, then they should have to replace the entire stereo if they can't add XM to your current one under warranty since that is what you paid for.

If it says 'XM feature' then either it is already there or it is compatible with the XM receiver part. It wouldn't have the CAT button is it wasn't compatible with XM

man that red is sharp , I wish ours was red, but I got a very good deal on this one and its silver my second best choice. but red is definitly best. ours had 2,300 miles you couldnt even tell it had been driven . I got it for 10k less than a new one and with a better warranty . because its certified I think I get 48/48 because of the extra 12/12 so actually that leaves 3 yr and 46k miles left on b to b

Your's is not equipped with XM. I can't tell you if XM was standard on an '08 SS, because I had never heard that before.

Mine's an '08 without XM. The upgraded 6 disc pioneer system deleted the XM option.

I've got an '08 with the premium Pioneer system (XM capable)... No XM. When I bought mine the dealer told me that XM was not standard for the SS, but they could install the kit for $350.

You can probably get it that way from the factory, but the dealer install upgrade kit may not be compatible with the 6cd.
There are 08s still for sale in my area with both.
