When the car sits for an extended period of time, on start up there are no power brakes for the first 10-30 sec. There is a TSB and i had mine in for it but it did not work, when i took it back in for it today the service manager said he had been on the phone with GM and they do not have a fix for it and they would not release my car back until they do. I have a meeting with the gm of the dealership on monday to discuss what my options are.

That is really scary. If GM knows of this, then why aren't they notifying all the owners. Is this where GM gets into serious trouble if someone gets killed in an accident...

I wonder if the '09 Cobalt SS ordering has been put on hold. That car probably uses a different intercooler, but the brakes are the same. Sounds like a vacuum issue. Did the traction control or ABS lights come on when you had no brake boost?

Well, so much for me ordering an SS. Not until this is thoroughly sorted out.

Not to worry, according to my Dealership - you couldn't if you wanted to. That said I am confused as to why they wouldn't accept an order and back them up till the problem(s) are resolved? Seems like a strange strategy to be adopting for a revenue hungry organization?

Maybe they're just shutting out all them hosers up in the Great White North, eh?

Sorry, I couldn't resist the lingo made popular by Bob & Doug McKenzie in the late 80's.
