Unhappy 2010 HHR SS - "Totaled"

Last Sunday morning, 6:45am, my wife and I were stopped at a traffic light here in Tucson. There were few if any other vehicles on the multi-lane blvd. when we were struck from behind. The "other driver" was obviously distracted, talking on her cell, texting or asleep at the wheel. She never attempted to stop or avoid the collision and impacted us dead center at 40mph or better. The HHR SS took the hit and provided the passenger safety necessary to allow my wife and I to walk away with only some discomfort and soreness that was not and has not become an issue. Unfortunately my little "hot rod" sustained significate damage and has been listed as a "total loss" by our insurance adjuster. It's off to the salvage yard this morning on a flatbed. Was a fun car that came through with a excellent margin of safety when called upon.

a sad day to see your hot rod towed to the salvage yard, great to hear no major injuries, so what is the object of your replacement thoughts?? another SS ?

Sorry to hear it was totaled. But, glad you were able to walk away from the accident.

Since I also have a 2010, I'm happy to see that it offered up the crash protection that was needed.
I would also be curious as to what the insurance will pay out as far as fair market value for a 2010 SS.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your accident, but you're both OK and that's the most important thing.
