5 Speed Pull handle
Well went in for the 2nd round of adjustments I'm still not happy with it...I'm still having to pull up on the handle to shift into 5th gear, but its not as hard to shift into 5th as of now....they adjusted the shift linkage thats all the service writer put on it.
I've worked on many shifters and linkages. I really think this is something in the shifter itself not the linkage. I may just take a look at mine myself this weekend. It may not be a M22 or a Lynco but it's all just mechanical :-) If I get the chance to look at it and figure it out I'll post the results.
Fantastic!
Now I feel better too. I thought it was just me. I just found this post but have been having difficulty shifting into 5th also. I'll have them look at it when I take it in for the next oil change...

Took mine to the dealer today. They tell me there are no adjustments that can be made so are overnighting a whole shifter assembly to replace the original.
Kind of concerning that a dealer shop in Houston says they adjusted the shifter to fix the same problem a dealer shop in Dallas says there is no adjustment for. When I take it back in tomorrow to have the new one installed I'm going to ask to see the pull off.
I've been working on my own cars for 32 years and built drag cars for 20 of that. I find it odd that a shifter wouldn't have some adjustment in it.
I'll post back with the results.

Yes, please let me us know what you find. I ahve a hard time believing that also. I haven't even had a chance to look under the vehicle yet myself. Although mine does seem to have gotten slightly better now. I have over 6,300 miles on it also...
Have no idea if the dealer tech. referenced the GM TSB list but I found this. I have no idea if it applies to the manual transaxle in the SS (RPO below I believe), but......
TSB # 07-03-29-001A, MG3, M86 manual transaxle requires excessive engagement or disengagement effort in 5th gear or reverse. Will not shift into 5th or reverse.
Hope it helps.
