I was down at the beach yesterday and a young guy in an old S-10 pulls in. He jumps out with his girlfriend and snaps a pic of the SS with his phone. I thought he was having a fit. Must of been his first siting of an SS. Always nice to know that some of the young guys admire the SS. Thought most were in love with ricers.

Yah, the same sorta thing happened to me a few days ago when i was leaving getting the side windows tinted. The people outside started to gather when they pulled the SS up front. Had to answer a few questions about it,had a few people drop their jaws when i told them the specs etc.
And of course the nice comments on how cool it looked

Too funny . . . The first day I had mine was picking up some cold beverages to enjoy over the evening, and a guy did a full 360 walk around while I was in the store . . .

I've had lots of people do the walkaround while I'm in a store. It's sad when people ask me if it's the 'new model PT Cruiser' though... When I tell them it's an HHR SS the usual thing they respond it 'why didn't they give it a real name instead of lots of letters?

I've had a couple of HHR LT owners as me where I got my 'mods' and were surprised when I tell them it's all factory.

There weren't many SS's on the lots around here so I guess a lot of people bought HHR LS/LT's not knowing there was an SS model. I bought mine sight unseen because I didn't want to drive the 200 km to the closest one. I test drove the Colbalt SS instead to get a feel of the motor.

I was at a light and pulled up to a car with three guys around 20 years old in a fairly newMustang.

They gave me a major look and were looking back as they drove away. I was shock.

I was at the gym at work the other day, running on the treadmill, looking outside into the parking lot. A guy walked up to the SS, stopped and stared for a few seconds, then walked all the way around before going to his car. He then got in his car (minivan LOL), started driving and stopped again in front of the SS to get another look before taking off. It was hilarious.

Just remembered another cool story,, was goin to get my hair cut (at the ladie's home), pulled in the drive , got out and her son was there (2nd grade i think), and said "Wow, you got the SS , huh?", and then he started telling me about my car (specs n features) The lil dude blew me away!
He'd be right at home in anyone's garage on bench race night

Plus, i've noticed a lot more double takes from people when they see mine, must be the recent mods n detailin' LOL

well Cokey, i'm a young guy (turning 21 in about 6 weeks), and i gotta say, i LOVE my SS, hell i love it just as much as i love my Camaro, and my truck! that's the unfortunate thing about my generation, they're all obsessed with imports. i wish more people my age could appreciate a car like these. the retro styling, and plenty of performance to boot. but apparently because it doesn't come from Japan or somewhere in Europe, it isn't worth crap why is it the HHR gets made fun of all over the place, but the far uglier and more worthless xB gets praise all over the place?

I noticed HHR owners like to gawk, so do other drivers.

And I'm also young (22) and love my SS.
