Aftermarket Wheels
It wasnt featured ride for nothing people love big wheels. You guys are just old fashion that dont like the new modern look. 20" wheels and bigger are what people like and Auto Makers have noticed. Look at the 08 Chevy 1500 they have 20" even the ZO6 has 18 front 19 rear and the little SS has 18's there bigger than all the other HHR model wheels.
Weight of the wheels are all relative on how much money you want to spend on a set of wheels. You can get some 20" HRE's built and I guarantee you they are lighter than our 18"s or OZ-Speedline and several others.
As far as handling the 20' wheel should handle bertter for a number of reasons.
Slower rotating mass
Wider tires and wheel
Shorter sidewall

It goes without saying the taller wheels look great. Im not one for having rubber band tires. I want a decent ride from my ride. Ive had lots of low pro tires on my cars and they rode horribly. Personally, I didnt get this car to chase Porshes thru corners. I leveled it, added a rear sway bar and what a difference that made. I think 18's are the tallest Im going, if and when that happens.
You're right! I said I'm old fashioned and don't like the look. That's just my opinion. I also don't like some of the music being played at some of the events, because I couldn't take my Godchildren to it without having to explain to their parents why their kids now have this new "colorful" talk. To each his own, but I'll stay with a little rubber between me and the road....
Leon, I respect your opinion, and that is why you will respect mine. I am over 40, but roll on 20's, it is lowered, has sounds that would just make you sick. My car is new school! It may not be to your taste, and yours may not be to mine. But when SocalHHR's go to a show, we show up with 15-20 cars and they are all different, yet we are all tight, we respect the fact that we are all different. I like to show off my sound system but would never blast anything with curse words etc. although that is what I listen too, I would not subject other people to that. It is just a matter of people being respectful to others, And for sure there is a big lack of that these days. I think us HHR owners have it going on! We just get along LOL, Todd (Uma)
The large wheels remind me of Conestoga Wagons. Why dosen't someone get out of the box and put on a really tall set of bigs & littles, say 34" rear and 26 front and put the whole tire and wheel assembly outside of the wheel wells?
