Anyone ever had a Trailblazer SS
Anyone ever had a Trailblazer SS
Lookin for a replacement vehicle for the family. Am looking at a3-4 yr old Trailblazer SS. Any feedback on this SUV (gas mileage is irrelevant- only 6k miles/yr).
Thanks

If you like this forum for the HHR then this one for the TB and the Envoy will be very useful too

I looked at an SS and almost bought one. I liked it and it drove great.
What stopped me was many of my friends who owned a non SS TB told me not too buy as they were not happy with theirs. I do have a Neighbor who has two that have been very good and he bought them used cheap. Also the reasale value on TB is horrible here in Ohio. But that makes for a good used buy.
The Final factor that is the one that really stopped me was MPG. Mine would have been a daily driver and I wanted something that got more than 20 MPG.
I can say It drove great and handeled fantastic. I think I would have been happy with all but the MPG when gas nears $5 this summer.
Make sure the tires are good they are not cheap to replace.
It is a cool ride.
Becareful as the high center of gravity is an issue. I see a lot of these on the web for sales crashed. Most are roll overs. I think many tend to forget this in spirited driving.

SS with the LS trim is 2 wd and SS with LT trim is AWD. AWD was around $6,000 more.
Another good buy right now is the Saab 9-7X it was the best of all of these GM SUV's. I just saw a low mileage one for $22K. It was near $50k new.

There was an article (I forget which magazine) that reviewed late model used vehicles that are now a bargain buy for about $20k. It was very favorable towards the TB SS. It mentioned something about getting a Corvette with alot of cargo space :)
I know one owner (only) and he loves it, has also done some nice mods. I actually almost bought one instead of the HHR SS, and it was only the MPG and tire cost for commuter use that swayed my decision.
I bought one for my wife with 27,000mi for 20k last year. It get's decent gas mileage and it a ball to drive. It's AWD and has plenty of power to pass people at will plus I can drag the boat around like it's not even there. It had magnaflow catback on it when I got it but that's the only mod. You should see the looks she get's driving it
