Anyone have a tire sensor go bad?

Driving to work this morning and the dash lit up with the tire monitor error.

Pulled over and checked the pressure and all is well.(35 psi)

Cole......

Try re-calibrating your sensors. I know it's a pain and troublesome, but I've been told the sensors will loose signal on occasion and require resetting.

The directions are in your Owners Manual.

Or your dealer will do it for free or replace the bad sensor if needed since you are under warranty.

this happened just today with my wifes 06 monte carlo........ message came up on the display.. something like monitor psi tire system.... she click on the button to check pressure in her tires.... all but one was reading...... the left rear and it was just a bunch of dashes..... she pulled over and nothing appeared wrong. she got in the car and back on the freeway then the left rear read 30...... i just happened to be in the service dept w/hhr and told my advisor Tony and he told me either a bad sensor or needed to reprogramed.... so i will take it by thursday.

Thanks, but it didn't.
  • LF TPMS -- no problem found.
  • RR TPMS -- no problem found.
  • rattle in B-pillar plastic (there's a TSB somewhere around here on this) -- smear dirty, greasy fingers on the headliner and plastic
  • rattle in center of dash -- pretend it doesn't exist
  • no issue with headliner -- add more greasy fingers to it and make sure it hangs down about 2" in the front where the hands-free mic is located
  • limp mode -- hey, they appear to have fixed this one

I've been on the phone with the GM (SM is ooo this week). I'm not a happy camper.

Had my right rear one replaced. It was faulty. Warranty covered it.
