Anyone have a tire sensor go bad?
I've been trying to capture the "--" on the display with my phonecam since the dealer says "no problem found" on something that is 1) a common issue, and 2) intermittent. I think my real solution with my post-purchase experience thus far is to sell the car and buy something imported. GM apparently didn't learn the last time they let quality swirl down the toilet and imports quadrupled their market share.
this happened just today with my wifes 06 monte carlo........ message came up on the display.. something like monitor psi tire system.... she click on the button to check pressure in her tires.... all but one was reading...... the left rear and it was just a bunch of dashes..... she pulled over and nothing appeared wrong. she got in the car and back on the freeway then the left rear read 30...... i just happened to be in the service dept w/hhr and told my advisor Tony and he told me either a bad sensor or needed to reprogramed.... so i will take it by thursday.
Had a chance to take the monte carlo in the service............ they replaced the sensor it was bad.........
My RF alarm went off the other day. I had just rotated the tires a couple days before that and hadn't had the time to go through that hideous 11 step re-learn. (still haven't) anyway, the readout said 26psi. When I got hom I checked it with my trusty pressure gauge and it was 26. I pumped it back up and it's been right ever since.
Darndest thing. How does a tire just lose 8 pounds instantly for no reason without a massive go flat leak?

My right front was giving me problems, going off and such. I recalibrated and then the right rear went off. I added air and it turned off. Goes off again the next day. I go to check the pressure and it comes back on, stating 38 PSI. weird. I am a few hundred miles from my 10,000 mile service so I think I will tough it out until then.
Weird.
Still love the car, though.
