Black Wheels for my Black SS????'s

I have never had aftermarket or custom rims on a car before, so I have questions....??????

Is it possible to take the stock rims from my 08 HHR SS and have them painted the same black color as my SS? I had a guy from work tell me to get them "powder coated", is this an option? Any suggestions, pics, or approximate prices for this type of conversion would be greatly appreciated. And finally would it be better to just go aftermarket? I have decided to go completely black on the SS. Anything I can get painted or replaced with black is my mission for Noodle-5.

Any thoughts?

Both are viable options. If it was my call and could swing it, Id powder coat the stockers. Correct fit, etc is assured and although not a fan of the blacked out look, I think that would look most bytchen.

To reach your blacked out look you have 2 options for the tails. You can either get IPCW Black LED Taillights (Still have some white in them) pic courtesy Digital Rapture:

or you can tint them like I did:

My vote is powder coating. Is going to cost more than painting, but it will hold up a lot better than paint. The stuff is tough! I have done it on my S4, and two of my buddies have done it as well. It's worth it IMO.

When you see the expense of redoing your stock wheels, you might consider getting different wheels and selling yours. Frankly, the style of the SS wheels SUX! Look at what else is available and you might see you would be happier for the money spent.

My nephew had his wheels from his GTO powder coated an loves them. He had them done at a place up by me that does great work. There are also 2 places in Franklin Park that do it. Here are some links...

Powder coat them. Makes them bulletproof.

I though tthe same thing, then I ran into our 5x110 (nobody uses this diameter) 38-45 offset (can't safely run adapters) and realized that few "pretty" options exist.
