No way, the SS wheels are killer looking! They are some of the best looking factory wheels I've ever seen.

My thread of conversation dealt with someone who first said the stockers "SUX", and that they were "fugly".

So, you should take my remarks in that context and not in a vacuum.

Why are light wheels better than "bling wheels", what defines bling??

Is my SS "bling compared" to a 2.2, 2.4??? It did cost me a few pieces of silver more..

My SS rims are quite shiny, too shiny for my taste. To "bling"?

And also, whoever said that there are plenty of nice rims to choose from that fit the SS 5X110 19"/20" dia 7.5"/8" width 38/45 offset (or 40/40) that ALSO are not the 5 or 6 choices worn by current users...those include ADR propulsion, konig with the colored inserts, boss motorsports style 318, konig unknown etc hasn't really tried looking????

Tirerack isnt a good place to start. Don't mean to be picky, but is money out of my pocket, originality counts, and I don't want to "stop traffic' in a bad way :)

ss rims suck??

How is that possible to say the ss rims suck, It is the only Forged rim the gm offers, not even the corvette has forged rims, they are cast alum., Redo the stock rims Because to get the same quality rim is gonna cost you lots of $$

Corvette wheels are spun cast aluminum which provides for a more consistant grain structure in the wheel while offering significantly less weight than a forged wheel.

Real world comparison, the 2001 Z06 had forged aluminum wheels. The 2002-2004 Z06's have spun cast wheels that are equivilent in strength and lighter than their forged counterparts. GM did this to improve the performance of the car.

Strictly forged or cast is not a discriminator by itself. Generally speaking, forged wheels are heavier which increases unsprung weight and rotational inertia. Increasing unsprung weight and rotational inertia are counterproductive and decreases vehicle stability and performance. I'll take my spun cast aluminum over a forged or conventional cast aluminum wheel any day.

On topic comment, I agree the SS wheels are a great looking wheel.

I do like the stock rims alot I just don't like that they are so bright. I am going to go ahead and price out getting them powder coated and procede from there.

Thanks for all the advice,

SPPD
