No one said they didn't.

The companies sell them because they do look good and they make good profits from them and nothing more.

I have a set Dimpled and slotted on the wifes GTP as she has a set of thin spoked 17" wheels. Her calipers were red powder coated from the factory with the Comp G package Pontiac offered. They look good. They do make a little noise that might bother some but not me.

I like them I just hate to see people pay extra money for them thinking they are better performing if they don't care about the looks.

ok so a little off topic, i have a extended warranty on the car and to date they have not done a very good job at fixing stuff like irritating rattles in the dash and the seatbelts, the extended goes to 160,000kms, i drivbe my car alot and am at 54000km the factory warranty ends at 60, i have the option of having the extended warranty removed and balance taken off the loan, and now i am finding out how much gm parts cost and how bad they b***h about aftermarket parts i am wondering if the extended is worth it, so i am just looking from opinions on how other ppl feel about extended warranties. i am defiantly not paying 350.00 for brake pads for my car, but i am suire this wont be the only expensive gm part and at what point will they say if you put that on yur car it will cancel your warranty is my concern now lol.
All of you have been a great help, and the rotor topic is one i will keep in mind, i think i would like that sweet hood scoop before fancy rotors lol. but all in time right now i just want my car back and they are looking over a water leak in front passengers side on the floor and the stereo is having some issues static when fan is on and cutting in and out.

Extended warrantiess are a bet if you will have enough issues to cover the cost of the warranty or more or if they win and you use less.

Most of the time GM wins as you never use the full price of the warranty. Other wise they would never offer them if the house loses all the time.

It comes down to odds and what makes you sleep at night. I do not buy warranties unless it is a Lap top as most times I would win this one.

There is no right or wrong deal here as some people win because they have issues that made the warranty look like a deal vs the cost of the repair. Oftne this is the accpetion. It just what makes you feel best.

As for taking brakes to the dealer they usally do a great job but they are not going to be your cheapest deal. Local shops are the best most times as they will offer lower dollar per hour rates.

Many here can do the work our selves but unless you know what you are doing and feel confident to do it that could make things even more expensive if you make a mistake.

There is no one here that answer you're question but you. THere is no right or wrong when it comes down to what makes it right for you.

The window leak is in the cowl and they should be able to fix it . If you search the site there are several threads on this problem.

On anything you do with the dealer use this site to help you understand what is going on and to help explain to them what the issue is to help resolve it. Knowledge is king and helps solve issues as well as protect you from a bad shop.
