Break-in for 2.0 Turbo SS

I will be taking delivery of my new 08 SS tomorrow and was wondering what if any special break-in a turbo car needs. This is my first turbo car and don't know what the difference in break-in is between a NA and turbo engine is. Any advice will be appreciated. I want to do things right with this car, as I expect to have it for many years and many miles.

Thanks,

SPPD

None that I know of

Dealer didn't point out anything special and nothing out of the ordinary I saw in the manual...just take it easy till the first oil change.

Most say around 500 miles. I took it easy for the first 1,000.

Thanks for the info.

My dealer told me "no breakin required" on todays vehicles. I have a really hard time accepting that. He said that modern gaskets and rings are made from better materials than they used to be so drive it how you want from delivery. I think I will go with around 1000 miles just to be safe

I pick mine up at 1:30 today. I am so excited that I thought about calling in to work, but I figured that the day will go faster if I go to work instead of just sitting around thinking about my new ride all day.

I know how you are feeling. It was just over a year ago when I had that same feeling.
Good luck with your new SS.

Taking it easy for the first 500 or 1000 miles will be just fine. Plus, do you know how many of the dealer guys and random people come in taking that out and hammering it? I know I took an SS for a test drive and went crazy. I guess yours just got delivered so that doesn't apply.

Special Order cars should not be used for test drives since I ordered it for me, I hope. Its the porters and dealership employees I am worried about

Haha yeah, exactly! My HHR had to be retrieved from another dealer. It already had 150 miles on it... leave it alone employees :)
