I just have one question. Are these tunes still be covered under warranty?

I have the BSR tune (the first one :) ) two different cars it is a beast with the tune......I have a few hundred miles on it now going to dyno it again soon to see where it sets at....still pulls as hard as it always has but seems to be using a little less boost. we will see.

Keep me (and US) informed crazysteve. It's almost summer, and I might want to waste a few tanks of 94 octane.

I am going to step through 91, 94, 96, 98, 100 octane until I get no "protective" ignition retard (not sure if FI retards also?), at full boost. Probably safe to assume that would indicate optimum octane for "track" days. I agree, you should try your dyno runs with at least 94 octane.

CA people!

Please keep the CA people in mind with only 91 octane to deal with here!! I doubt your average SS owner is going to run top octane in every tank?? With that in mind, more people might be more interested in trying a new tune with out the expense of top fuel. Some tuners give you the option of 89,91 or 93 octane to choose. BSR should be concerned with only testing with high octane that not everyone can get or choose to use V.expense V cant even get on a daily basis. Dont limit your market of buyer so casually.

My understanding (and I am sure I'll be corrected if wrong) is that this ECM and the BSR tune is sophisticated enough to handle any octane, you just won't get full advantage of the power available if it is compensating for lower octane by retarding spark timing and perhaps Fuel Injection timing also.

tuners

Every tuner I have ever used on my Mustangs to my 07 Vette always asks what octane are you using?? Each tune will be alittle different for max. perf. I ve learned over alot of years to ask questions and get answers that make sense and proven by dyno testing. Thank you for being the mule, but be wise about something someone is trying to push.
