So today while driving I messed w/ the competive mode. And usually I get up to 10psi, but noticed while using it I was getting 15psi. Is this normal or was it just luck that I had it on comp mode? What ever it was it was alot of fun

If competitive mode does mess with shift points, then a stock SS will see 15psi on the high R range WOT, but that's about max on a auto. Putting it in "I" will also get you there on spirited runs without comp. mode.

I wish we has a full run down of all the Comp Mode does for the Automatic since it is not very well outlined in the owners manual.
I agree with you on the Auto, as I do not know the full range in the Comp mode, the most I ever come out of the hole was around 1800 to 2000 r's, usually I just do from idle and that still is a lot of power to deal with in this vehicle......

I know the traction control is made more for a performance launch.

I feel it is but am not positive the shifts are different. It feels like it holds a lower gear longer than normal.

I know I have used it several times and it came out of the hole from a dead stop up to speed faster than It has any other time.

My boost is not effected one way or the other. If I have RPM I have boost. I see 20-22 PSI with or without comp mode. Stage equipt and weather effected.

I e mailed the GM Performance group Drivetrain engineer I have been in contact with. I asked him for some more info on the changes it does and how we are recomended to launch. I post his reesponce.

do you mean with the TC engaged or disengaged?
I feel better shifts with the TC off (disengaged) but like you also get boost up to 23 psi whether it is on or off, also depending on weather conditions. I am at sea level, so may have a slight advantage.
yes do post the response, would like to know what he has to say.....

What I mean is the TC is changed to better respond to hard acceleration.

THe SS has TC on, TC in Comp mode and TC off. The mode I am speaking of is Comp but the TC is on but changes. I just want to know what all parameters are changed with it with the Auto tranny.

I drive with it on all the time - as well as more fun to drive I find it also reduces torque steer

I'm (still) kinda laughing at the "it makes the car more responsive" comments...
