Competition Mode Shifting?
So your saying w/ an auto you can hold the brake and gas and keep it at 4500 rpm?? Wont this tear up the breaks? I drive in the comp mode and notice the shift at different rpms.
I have also driven it in "I" but dont like it. When you let off the gas and are coasting when it gets to 30 mph it feels like you are hitting the brakes. It is how it shifts I assume. I just can't get use to the feeling every red light.

ya but you can power brake in any vehicle and you dont' comp mode. My friend use to do this in his s-10 all the time.
OK, I know this sounds really dumb but I FINALLY used the competition mode and after 5 years, wonder what the heck I was waiting for. First couple tries got bogged in 2nd. Then basically waited until 6500 to shift to 2nd and whammo, success. I live in a stupidly suburban environment so I don't drive like this very often. Sherrif sub station and Trooper barracks to boot means I have little chance of getting away with screeching any tires. Plus I've taught here for 14 years so someone's going to notice. My kids are also old enough to mess about a little and they actually like it when I hit corners hard so goodbye expensive tires, it's going to be a fun summer.

Cool it was almost 4 years ago Asanti was talking about it. I don't race about either, ha ha ah, anyway I find a little satisfaction with traction off and use L and I on the shifter. But I have to admit my transmission was retuned with the Trifecta. That combination works best for me....
