Contemplating a purchase
Hello there. I have been lurking here a while and have been saving my pennies. I stopped by a dealer this afternoon and test drove a 2010 HHR SS in Silver, a little over 300 miles on the car and is sold as a used GM promotional vehicle. They want a little under 20k. He printed me up a build sheet that listed Performance package J56 $895, Power Upgrade Kit $650 and (4) Wheel package $1,697.16. Bringing the configured price to over $30k. I did see the brembo calipers so I would guess it has the J56 but how would I know if the power upgrade kit was installed and the wheels looked like the standard SS polished rims. Does this sound like a good deal? Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

I think many of the members here have paid $23-$25K for theirs. 300 miles is not very much at all. Just under $20K for a nearly brand new performance car sounds pretty good if you ask me! Good luck, I think you'll like the HHR a lot if you end up getting it. I love mine, and it's not even an SS. I can't imagine how nice it would be to have an SS.
Hope you buy the HHR! And by the way, Welcome to the site!!
thats a great price if you want a SS offer them 18 see where their bottom is but I would buy that best I could gut on a10 was 24+ around here and I tried to find one last year and all welcome to the forum
if you r getting 0% financing good deal. but remember used car financing will cost u more.the car is a 1year old used car. still finding 1 with those miles is a blessing. i have silver 2010 SS . i traded 2 vehicles and $1500 & have title in hand.20 OTD soundz better. good luck.
Thanks for the replies and information! I am very happy that I decided to ask. Furious brings up a very good point about being used and financing. Exactly what I was thinking when I asked if it was being sold used. And thank you very much Chevy Manager for your advice and wisdom. And thank you Asanti for steering me his way for advice. So I'll keep everyone posted. Any further advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Oh, by the way I am finding out that the dealer is lying to me and that the car was a Hertz Rental car and not special promotional car. So I am now faced with where does the dealer stop lying? I am sure everyone knows when a car salesman is lying? Their lips are moving. That is an old car lot joke. So it probably does not have the power upgrade, the fuel door still reccomends high test fuel. OK everyone I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for everyones help
