The VIN that Pualio supplied me with is not an SS VIN. So something is wrong somewhere.

Well that is the vin number that I got off of an ad. Just got off the phone with them and the vin that was in the ad was not for the SS. So here we go again. Will keep everyone posted. Thanks again for your help.

The part about Hertz with a 300 Mile SS does not jive either

I have seen a couple 2010 SS at just over 29 Sticker but not the big 30K.

The first VIN was a Hertz 2LT, the new VIN he just sent me is an SS.

sounds like they have more than one hhr on the lot, salesman might have mixed up info on them. Hard to believe a Hertz rental shop would rent out a performance vehicle and decide to dump after 300 miles. I would definately purchase a carfax report and see what the history really is. Best $20 bucks you can spend on a used vehicle. Good luck with the sale, hope it all jives in the end.

This is the part I would question.

I'm still looking into the whole deal. It's surprising what you find out. There was a mix up of vin #s. I got a new one today from the dealer and if it's the right one it's an SS. So tomorrow I'll go to the dealer and check it out. I'll have to check the wiring and see if the power upgrade kit was installed. It did not seem too terribly fast. I drove our Nissan Spec V to the dealer and after wards thought the HHR SS seemed sluggish. There is almost 100hp and 100ftlbs torque difference stock so I expected the HHR to keep me firmly planted in the seat. So this vehicle seems to have a mystery surrounding it. I thought the deal on the wheels was bogus and that lit the spark to ask around here. I'm really cheap and this is a ton of dough to spend on a car. I usually have cars I can get for a bargain. I have loved cars all my life and I'm thinking that an HHR SS might be the car for me, well the most I've ever spent. Good old American way of thinking, work hard save your money and blow it on a car. No one outside the US can really understand that. I really appreciate all the answers and support that I am getting. I hope this turns out well and I'll keep everyone posted
